I have always loved sports, especially baseball and track. I grew up in a family of 4 boys -one brother and 3 cousins-, so my uncle Antonio treated me like one of the guys.
I danced for 13 years, competed in aerobics choreography, and ran track at the marathon level for 7 years in my home land, Venezuela.
In 1991, I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (Sport Journalist) from the Universidad del Zulia (LUZ). I came to the United States in 1996 to advance my degree in Journalism to pursue a Master Degree. While planning my way through school, I found a passion for teaching when I started substituting for the Houston Independent School District. Following my heart, I changed my curriculum from Journalism to Elementary Education. I attended Saint Thomas University to pursue a greater cause, structuring our youth for a better future. I have been a teacher for 7 years.
Three years ago my lifestyle changed. When I was visiting my family in Maracaibo, I was initiated to a new challenge: bodybuilding.
Since 2004 I started to walk a path filled with sacrifices as well as satisfactions. I know what it takes to be a winner, but I love every minute of it.
